DECISIONS DECISIONS

I waited for the answer...got it...thought about it and here it is: I hope to the heavens that the choice is a good one. Senator Barack Obama and his staff selected Senator Joe Biden to share the ticket with the presumptive presidential candidate. Joe Biden is the pit bull that Obama can't be. He can go at John McCain with the ferocity that is necessary to change the minds of people who may not vote for Obama. The first thing that comes to mind when you see that Biden is "the guy" is, "Didn't he run for president like 5 times"? Okay maybe not five times but you get my point.

I've been trying to figure out what it was that Biden did that made him withdraw from the race in '88...what did he do? Was it a comment on race? Did he have an affair? Nope...did a minimal amount of searching and here is what I found: He came under fire for his exaggeration of his academic record and his alleged plagiarism. Ah...I see he was accused of embellishing on his academic record (who hasn't right?) and he was accused of plagiarizing British Labour Party leader Neil Kinnock and it all comes back to me. He had been giving Kinnock his props in every speech but one and then presidential candidate Democrat Michael Dukakis sabotaged Biden via video. There was one speech in which he didn't credit Kinnock (here is the wikipedia account of the "plagiarism - remember this is from Wiki so...) and that with the alleged academic issue killed his campaign - dead man walking.

If memory serves me right Joe Biden is a decent fellow who does what most of us do...he gets passionate about his shit - not literally but you get my point. He grilled the shit out of Supreme Court nominees Robert Bork and Anthony Kennedy as head of the Judiciary Committee, he's the head of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee - not my favorite committee but ya know...he's also been known to open his mouth and have a lot of crap fall out of it. Joe Biden doesn't make me nervous well at least not as nervous as say this woman does. The Democratic National Convention is this week and John Wayne McCain is going to try and get into a dogfight with Biden and that is where Mr. Biden becomes useful. Biden will be the venom that EVERYONE wishes Obama would be.

So here we go...Obama/Biden vs. McCain and whomever he chooses and once again it's on, it's the battle for the souls of...a nation. The world is watching and listening and reading blogs like this one. How important is it to YOU to select the best choice for CEO of Planet EARTH? What does it mean for YOU to have a candidate who can deal with adversity or a candidate who might kick off another series of unfortunate events. I want to know what you think...leave a comment telling me how YOU feel about the upcoming race. I truly want to know what you think...get into it, get involved and talk to me.
