SHITTING BULL

It was all a dream. Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, Horace Grant, John Paxson, the Grant Park celebrations - all of it a beautiful dream. The reality of our new sports landscape in Chicago is that the Chicago Bulls are ABSOLUTELY FINISHED. In my opinion this season has been doomed from the moment King Kobe decided that he didn't want to be here (if the Bulls traded half the team away) and when Joakim Noah became the fall guy for this group of underachieving ballers. If you think for one friggin minute that I am gonna keep watching this season spiral out of control...you are CORRECT! I love it and am curious to see if anything else can happen. Bulls GM John Paxson has lost all control of the good ship Reinsdorf and everybody likes watching train wrecks. That is called human nature and the saddest part of it all is that there is at least five months to go. Good googly moogly.


I WANT MY OWN TV

Oprah has truly outdone herself this time and I love her. In a deal struck with the Discovery channel, Oprah is taking over the Discovery Health channel and turning it into the Oprah Winfrey Network OWN-TV. What do we have to look forward to...who knows? I just hope it's more Oprah. Hours and hours of Oprah. I would like to see Oprah cooking and running and in Africa at the school she created and Oprah in her garden and Oprah Oprah OOOOOOPPPPPPPPPRRRRRRAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Congrats beautiful and I promise never to bring up Chicago Celebrations and how dynamic a pyramid scheme that was. I Love You Oprah - mwaaaaaaaah!

The Battle For the Souls of Black Folks

Racial Tension. I have always heard about this "racial tension" but I must admit this is as misplaced as anything i've seen in quite sometime. Racial tension as diagnosed by doctors at the University of Chicago is well...without diagnosis. Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton are among 95 people running for president and more importantly lately they have developed a knack for not discussing ANYTHING aside from each other. To her credit she brought in a heavyweight supporter who is certain to get that beloved black vote to help catapult her into the black agenda - Robert Johnson founder of BET. That is who you want on your team, a bumbler who says things without much thought or clarity. Bowel Johnson has his own history that he wishes he could re-write and sucking Hillary's teat is damn near as good as being there I suppose.

I wonder if HRC really believes that LBJ is the reason Dr. King - that is Martin Luther King who by the way is not some soft character that bowed down to anybody - was successful in his efforts. True you need legislators who agree to find their moral center and pass laws that benefit humanity but the row that was created over the last three days is retarded. How about the real issue - the souls of black folks that is what we are really talking about here.

86% of the United States is Caucasian correct? With that apparent Senator Obama and Senator Clinton aren't fighting for the "white" vote they are battling for the "black" vote. John Edwards is the "king maker" once this soul train gets to the convention because splitting the vote is bad for Hillary and she knows it. Troubling isn't it? If Barack Obama wins the nomination it will be because of John Edwards...not because Hillary cried or has a sexy chick (Huma Abedin) on the side or because her husband is drunk or because she appeals to a certain group of women or Bowel Johnson and his interests - John Edwards holds the key for the Senator from Illinois.

All of this other crap about Dr. King and racism or anything other than the real story, the non-white vote and John Edwards as the key to the Democratic nominee in this election is an insult to the intelligence of voting Americans and an attempt to jack up the emotions of the people.

The crying game, the Obama has no experience game, all of it means nothing. I haven't made my mind up about who I will cast my vote for - but I know who I won't cast my vote for.

A REALly Bad IDea

In what could potentially be the single worse idea in the history of ideas, "Homeland Insecurity" chief Michael Chertoff is pushing uber hard for the "Real ID". Let's say you have to get a drivers license and you go to your local DMV. When you get in the door they'll take a picture and compare it to pictures of people who were "refused" a drivers license. If your pic and info match then guess what - no drivers license and who knows maybe a trip to Guantanamo...the rest of us will get a standard government issued ID card. Great googly moogly - the man done gon plum loco.

Looks like all of those wacky conspiracy theorists were right again huh? How about this: the US Congress slipped this vote in right around the time the president was all about catching Osama Bin Laden. This "Real ID" is part of the 9/11 bill...the fight terror at all costs bill...the smoke 'em out of their holes bill...the George Bush watched Katrina kill New Orleans bill...you know the rest.

I have an idea, lets call our Senators and members of the House of Representatives and tell them if they don't annihilate the "Real ID" and completely destroy it from becoming a reality, they will never serve in political office again. It's that important and amazingly (no real surprise) none of the "candidates" have addressed it. How did they vote you ask? Results.

Well what do you know...make the phone call and tell your elected official to kill the REALly stupid ID.

SAY WHAT ?!

The still to be destroyed "beauty" of the internet is that every now and again you run into a brilliant mistake. On a google search for a free laptop (yeah right) I found istartedsomething.com and I was amazed to see that as the site implied something had indeed been started. On December 27, 2007 Microsoft started handing out these. Apparently Microsoft is testing these bad boys out and a bunch of bloggers got one to be the test-ee so to speak. Bloggers who had wrote about Microsoft in their blogs and who as techy-types, were qualified to really run these nice toys through their paces.

But Mr. Gates knows that I am an average person who has an extraordinary job. I'm an advocate for kids and an artist who is still in search of the ultimate job/s and I need to test your product out too! Who better than me or one of my readers who are forced to have the Microsoft brand thrown at us on a regular? We deserve to try the product out too. The kids at Kuumba Lynks should have one. The kids in the Saturday Scholars program at Columbia College should all get one to test. Myra Bradwell elementary school on Chicago's southside, they all need one Mr. Gates.

Here is the deal...Bill Gates if you ever read this I want a laptop from you. The same ones the bloggers got and a nice one. Not one that you dropped on the floor. If you don't give one to me, give them to one of my concerns that I mentioned. Myra Bradwell is where I went to school and when I was there all we had was each other...Kuumba Lynks - those are good kids and they can use a boost, ya know? The Saturday Scholars are heading through the most challenging time in any of our lives certainly they could benefit...

I must admit, you are a great listener Mr. Gates and even though the cpu's and laptops that we use are falling apart, they contain your software which gives us the ability to tell and share. Technology, entertainment, sports, politics, spirituality, films, social commentary, internet radio whatever it is it has Microsoft in it - your software that we've been using...

and before anybody start goin' to town with the "why you runnin' to the white man to help you" bullshit understand that if Microsoft can lend a hand considering the billions of dollars that people of color spend on computers and their software - better than that, you start a company that makes zillions of dollars from sales of software that makes our computers run efficiently and we'll get shit from you - shut up.

Happy New Year you wacky Gregorians, can't wait for 2008!
